Is The Fear of COVID-19 Exaggerated ?

The 2nd wave of covid-19 pandemic in India has increased the panic. everyone is living in fear. but the question exists "Is the fear of covid-19 exaggerated ?"
The lockdown situation has increased the sufferings of common people in different ways . In this way they are affected by lockdown more than that of coronavirus .
The fact is that the SARS-COV-2 virus is a respiratory virus. Each year respiratory diseases cause 2-3 million deaths worldwide. As with the others the covid-19 particularly endangers the elderly with serious pre-existing conditions .
On 18th May ,2021 , India  reported a total of 2,67,334 positive cases , but India recorded the highest single day recovery of 4,22,426 patients .But the mainstream media does not show this figure .
We are presented with disturbing pictures and frightening numbers, the terrible pictures of crematoriums, long queues for oxygen cylinders. scaring the population seemed to be the sole agenda.
So as the citizens we must be aware of what is going on, but we don't need to worry too much. Because fear leads to depression and decreases our immunity .
