There Was No Mask In G7 Summit

The 47th G7 Summit (Group of Seven) was held in June, 2021 in England. The G7 countries are the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the US. Apart from these nations India, Australia and South Korea were also invited to participate in the proceedings of the summit this year as “guest countries”.

This year the main agenda was how to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Everything about the pandemic was discussed in this summit : how to tackle with the effects of the pandemic, vaccination drive and supplying vaccines to poor countries. The G7 signed the Carbis Bay Declaration. It is aimed at preventing future pandemics.

But it seems that the leaders of these countries forgot about the covid-19 norms while attending the summit. No one was wearing mask and social distancing norms was not followed by them.

Now the question comes why they don't need to wear masks? Does the coronavirus infect only the common citizens ? From the beginning of the pandemic it was advertised that mask and social distancing are the main weapons to curb the spread of covid-19. But the policy makers themselves forget about this.

That's why it is a arguable question that 'How effective is mask to curb the spread of covid-19 ?'
